A fabulous day at the National Conference at the BIC in Bournemouth today. Lots of speakers and the resolution debates were really interesting. Stop the decline in local bus services passes with 96% majority and Don't Fear the Smear passes with 97%.
We look forward to receiving the resources when available from The WI (National Federation of Women's Institutes) so we can get started on our campaign work. Very inspirational talk from Maggie Philbin OBE on her work with Teentech working in schools in disadvantaged areas encouraging interest in technology & science.
We all felt we learned a lot more about the WI . In fact the 8 Bees who went along are already planning our trip to London for next year.
We managed to fit in a rather hurried but delicious Lunch with cheeky G&T for some and then in support of one of the resolutions we came home on the bus!
