Indian War Memorial Service

Another fabulous day for the Barton Bees enjoying being part of our fabulous community here. July 10th was the annual ceremony at the Indian Memorial in Barton. It has a long and proud history and is in memory of Indian Soldiers who came to help us out in WW1 in France. Sadly many were badly injured and were brought here to Barton to convalesce and get well enough to return home. Some paid the ultimate sacrifice for which we are very grateful. Barton Bees are very happy to keep their memory alive and we are now responsible for the memorial garden. We provided the tea & cake to all our visitors who were at the event . It was a colourful spectacle with amazing drummers and moving speeches. BBC South Today filmed the event for the early evening news
