No fewer than 33 Bees enjoyed an afternoon at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton on Saturday 12 January. The show was Calendar Girls, the inspiring story of a group of intrepid WI ladies from Yorkshire who bared all to raise money for the local hospital in memory of the husband of one of the members.
The cast was led by Fern Britton, with Denise Welch and the indomitable Ruth Madoc, who displayed a very shapely leg for someone of 75. There was much discussion on the train home about who would be brave enough to follow the Calendar Girls example!
